Our Order of Service

 

Corporate Prayer

 

We begin our service with a time of recited corporate (all-together) prayer in which we praise God for who He is, reflect on our own sinfulness in light of God’s holiness, respond with gratitude for what He has done and His blessings, and present our requests to Him. (1 Chron. 29:10-13, 1 John 1:4-9, Psalm 100:4-5)

 

Worship

 

We then worship through song, responding to who God is and what He has done. We draw from hymns and faithful contemporary expressions. (Ps. 95:1-6, Ps. 100:2; John 4:23–24, Heb. 12:28)

 

Communion

 

The Lord’s Table is celebrated weekly as a central act of worship. In communion, we remember and proclaim the death of Jesus, receive His grace, and anchor ourselves in the hope of His return. (1 Cor. 11:26; Luke 22:19–20)

Nicene/Apostles’ Creed

 

Together, we affirm beliefs with Christ’s universal Church. This practice unites us with the global and historic body of Christ, grounding us in the truth that has been faithfully handed down through generations. (Jude 3; 1 Tim. 4:16)

 

Expository Preaching

 

We are a church committed to the teaching of all of Scripture. Book by book, verse by verse, the Bible is explained and applied. We believe that as we hear, understand, and live out God’s Word, we are formed into mature followers of Jesus. (2 Tim. 4:2; Heb. 4:12; Neh. 8:8)

 

Discussion and Prayer

 

Following the sermon, a question or a challenge is posed to the congregation. We take 5-10 minutes with those around us to think through and respond to that question/challenge. Sometimes that might mean wrestling with the text. Other times, that might mean sharing with each other relevant stories and testimonies. But this is really a time to encourage one another, build each other up, and walk towards the cross together.

After the discussion, we'll take time to pray for one another. This is where discussion naturally leads. And it is another moment to walk with each other and care for one another.

 

Meal and Fellowship

 

Fellowship around the table is a picture of the Kingdom. Every week after service, we invite everyone to stay and enjoy a meal together. This is a great time to connect, continue conversations, and be the body of Christ. (Acts 2:46–47; Luke 14:13–14)

Meals are currently potluck style. If you’re a first-time guest, we invite you simply to come. No need to bring anything!
